Developing the vision, unique perspective and comprehensive understanding of light, equipment and subject are invaluable in becoming a successful portrait photographer. Join Deborah Hardee—one of the Northwest’s premier lifestyle visual artists—in a one-day Idaho Photographic Workshop where you’ll learn the fundamental steps to producing captivating portraits.
Deborah helps you understand how to “design” a portrait with graphic elements like line, negative space and the importance of understanding and detecting shadows. Her approach helps you identify with the basics so you know how and when to bend the rules. She teaches the elemental aspects of light, metering, and, most importantly, working with your subjects to produce consistently successful portrait photography. Deborah demonstrates a range of lighting techniques and principals necessary for vivid images after which participants can practice with a variety of professional equipment, including strobes, soft boxes, grid spots and more.
In this comprehensive workshop, Deborah shares her vision and process, blending technical aspects of portraiture with personal interaction with your subject to best capture the essence of an individual.
Whether you're an amateur or professional photographer, this one-day workshop is an excellent foundation for any pursuit of portrait photography. Deborah will introduce you to the skills necessary to produce images with timeless, engaging composition.
